Pedal power. Buy local. The popularity of self propulsion is booming and here in Boston the city is paving the way – literally – for a more bike-friendly city. A good friend of mine Mr. Marty Walsh had dreams of becoming a bike builder from a very young age, and after making preliminary sketches of a frame design called the Geekhouse SG-1 (aptly named after the Star Gate series), he set off to service the cycling community – in style.

The mountain biker turned fixie-rider soon began building track bikes to suite the ever-changing needs of city cyclists, but in colorful fashion. His passion and dedication for building quality bikes certainly did not surpass his high sense of mustashioed hipsteresque style.

Now adding a new avenue into his line of bikes quaintly names “Sugar Coating,” Marty and his new partner Joe Boudreau behind the paint gun, their bikes are looking more beautiful than ever. This is a short documentary I put together for Marty to give his customers a feeling for the passion and dedication that goes into each Geekhouseframe. Enjoy.
